In 2003 maritime author Daniel Allen Butler contacted me if I would be interested in drawing the cover illustration for his new book which was in the early process of being completed. His latest book would be titled "The Age of Cunard" and as the title suggest handle the long and interesting history of the famous Cunard line. Daniel had seen some of my illustration work and he was looking for a drawing that would instantly depict the long history of Cunard. Of course I was interested and so it was decided I would draw an illustration of Cunard's first ship the Britannia (1840) and Cunard's newest super liner the Queen Mary 2 (2004). The end result is not only a decorative illustration but also a powerful image that instantly tells the history and literally shows the big evolution in ship design that has taken place over the years. The illustration on the dustcover is finished with a relief print which gives it a tactile 3D appearance. The Age of Cunard is available since January 2004 and can be bought via bookstores and online internet shops.

Some of Daniel Butler's other work are:
- Unsinkable: The Full Story of RMS Titanic
- Warrior Queens: The Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth in World War II
- The Lusitania: The Life, Loss, and Legacy of an Ocean Legend
